About This Call
The Ann Arbor Art Center is seeking handmade works of art for the annual Holiday Art Shop exhibition, designed to give patrons the opportunity to purchase original, handmade works as holiday gifts or for personal art collections. The Art Center is located in downtown Ann Arbor and welcomes thousands of holiday shoppers each season, with events including the Winter Art Tour, Midnight Madness, gallery programming, and art classes.
All artwork mediums are welcome, including painting, jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, photography, prints, glass, and textiles. Artwork does not have to be holiday themed but should be suitable for gift-giving and cash-and-carry. Entry fee is $25.00 (50% discount available for members). Artists may submit 1-5 images. The call is open to all artists over 18 years of age authorized to work in the US. All artwork must be original, professionally presented, and ready for installation and sale upon arrival. Giclees, reproductions, and manufactured work will not be accepted.
Timeline: Submission deadline is September 27. Artists will be notified of jury results by October 2. Artwork drop-off is October 3-31 (by appointment only). The exhibit opens November 10 and closes December 30. Unsold artwork pick-up is January 7-11. Current Gallery Shop artists showing the same media are exempt from jury and should contact the gallery by October 1 with their intentions.
