HMVC Gallery presents May Flowers

HMVC Gallery presents "May Flowers," an online group art show celebrating flowers, their beauty, and rich historical significance in various cultures worldwide. Throughout history, flowers have served as a means of communication and commemoration, and their beauty and fleeting nature have inspired many great artists. This group show showcases how flowers have remained an emblem of beauty and significance in both art and human culture over the ages. Artists are encouraged to explore various interpretations of flowers and their significance in the art world.

Artworks from all mediums of visual art are welcome, except AI-created art and video/film. Artists may submit up to 20 artworks for juror consideration; one artwork from each selected artist will be included in the final group show. High-quality images must be submitted along with an Artist Bio and Artist Statement. Accepted image formats include JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, and WEBP, with dimensions between 1200-2560 pixels on the longest side and file size under 2 MB. The entry deadline is April 28, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notification of acceptance will be sent by email by April 30th. The show will premiere on May 1st and run through May 31st.

All participating artists will be featured on the HMVC Gallery website and virtual gallery, receive a certificate of participation, and have their work screened on a jumbotron billboard in Times Square. Cash prizes are awarded: Best of Show ($150), Second Place ($100), and Third Place (online solo show). Winners of cash prizes must have a working PayPal account; prizes will be sent within 14 days of response. The Third Place winner receives a one-month solo show at HMVC Gallery and a solo certificate. Entry fee is $25 for the first entry and $10 for additional entries (non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance). By submitting images, artists grant HMVC Gallery the right to use their images on the website, social media, and online for promotion, with full credit and copyright remaining with the artist.
