HMVC Gallery presents Freestyle 2.0

HMVC Gallery New York is hosting an online group show with an open theme. "Freestyle" means there are no limitations on theme, style, or technique. Artists are invited to submit their best artwork for consideration. Artworks will be judged on originality, style, technique, artistry, and the quality of the Artist Bio and Artist Statement. All mediums of visual art are welcome except AI-created art and video/film.

Artists may submit up to 20 artworks for juror consideration; one artwork from each selected artist will be included in the final group show. Digital entries must be received by July 29th, 2024 before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Notification of acceptance will be sent by email by July 31st. The show will premiere on August 1st and run through August 31st. All participating artists will be featured on the HMVC Gallery website and virtual gallery and will receive a certificate of participation. A video clip featuring all participating artists' artworks will be screened on a jumbotron billboard in Times Square in August.

Awards include: Best of Show winner receives $150; Second place winner receives $100; Third place winner receives an online solo show at HMVC Gallery New York running for one month plus a solo certificate. All artworks will be featured on the Times Square jumbotron billboard. Entry fee is $25 for the first entry and $10 for additional entries (non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance). Image requirements: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, or WEBP format; minimum 1200 pixels on the longest side; under 2 MB. By submitting, artists grant HMVC Gallery New York the right to use images on their website, social media, and online to promote exhibitions, with full credit and copyright remaining with the artist.
