HMVC Gallery presents Flower Power!

HMVC Gallery presents an online group art show celebrating flowers and art in April 2023. The exhibition welcomes artworks depicting flowers from all mediums of visual art, except video/film. Throughout history, flowers have held significant meaning in art—from still-life paintings capturing the fleeting nature of human life, to botanical illustrations dating back to the 1st Century B.C., to the Pre-Raphaelite artists' use of hidden botanical symbolism, and Vincent Van Gogh's iconic sunflowers. This April online group show celebrates the arrival of Spring and the historical significance of flowers across the globe.

Artists may submit up to 3 artworks for consideration; one artwork from each selected artist will be included in the group show. Digital entries must be received by March 28th, 2023 before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Notification of acceptance will be sent by email by March 31st. The show will premiere on April 1st and end on April 30th. The entry fee is $40 for up to 3 images and is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance. Submissions must include high-quality images (JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, or WEBP format; 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side; under 2 MB), an Artist Bio, and an Artist Statement.

All participating artists will be featured on the HMVC Gallery website and virtual gallery platform and will receive a certificate of participation. Cash prizes will be awarded: Best of Show winner receives $150, Second Place winner receives $100, and Third Place winner receives an online solo show at HMVC Gallery New York running for one month, plus a solo certificate. Winners of cash prizes must have a working PayPal account to receive their prize money within 14 days of responding to HMVC. By submitting images, artists grant HMVC Gallery New York the right to use their images on the website, social media, and online to promote the exhibitions, with full credit and copyright remaining with the artist.
