HMVC Gallery presents Cuz I'm Happy

HMVC Gallery invites artists to participate in "Cuz I'm Happy," an online group show celebrating the theme of happiness. Artists are encouraged to explore what happiness means to them personally, whether expressed through vibrant compositions, serene landscapes, expressive portraits, abstract explorations, or any other artistic style. All mediums of visual art are welcome except AI-created art, video, and film.

Submissions must include high-quality images of artwork, an artist bio, and an artist statement. Artists may submit up to 20 artworks for juror consideration; one artwork from each selected artist will be featured in the final group show. Images must be submitted in JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, or WEBP format with dimensions between 1200-2560 pixels on the longest side and file size under 2 MB. Digital entries must be received by December 28, 2024 before 11:59 p.m. EST. Notification of acceptance will be sent by email by December 31. The show runs January 1-31, 2025.

Entry fee is $35 for the first submission and $10 for additional entries (non-refundable, does not guarantee acceptance). All participating artists will receive a certificate of participation and be featured on the HMVC Gallery website and virtual gallery. A video featuring all participating artists' work will be screened on a Times Square jumbotron billboard in January 2025. Awards include: Best of Show ($150), Second Place ($100), and Third Place (online solo show for one month plus solo certificate). Cash prize winners must have a working PayPal account. Jurors are Heini Mika and Vincent Chang. By submitting, artists grant HMVC Gallery the right to use images for promotion with full credit and copyright remaining with the artist.
