HMVC Gallery presents Current Mood

HMVC Gallery New York is seeking artworks that communicate and express moods, feelings, and emotions. The aim of this online group show is to showcase thought-provoking artworks that encourage viewers to appreciate the depth and diversity of artists' emotions as depicted through art. While the theme remains unrestricted, artists are specifically encouraged to reflect upon and share their creative processes, inspirations, and techniques for infusing their works with emotional resonance.

Artists may submit up to 20 artworks in any medium of visual art, except AI-created art and video/film. High-quality images, an artist bio, and an artist statement are required. Digital entries must be received by January 28, 2025 before 11:59 p.m. EST. Notification of acceptance will be sent by email by January 31, 2025. The show will premiere on February 1 and end on February 28, 2025. Entry fee is $35 for the first entry and $10 for additional entries (non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance). Media fee is $10.

All participating artists will be featured on the website and virtual gallery, receive an HMVC Gallery New York certificate of participation, and have their artwork screened on a jumbotron billboard in Times Square. Cash prizes are awarded: Best of Show ($150), Second Place ($100), Third Place (Online Solo Show), and Honorable Mention (BLICK Gift Card $100). Winners of cash prizes must have a working PayPal account. The Third Place winner will have their own online solo show at HMVC Gallery New York running for one month. Jurors are Heini Mika and Vincent Chang. Image formats accepted: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, and WEBP. Dimensions: minimum 1200 pixels, maximum 2560 pixels on the longest side. Image size must be under 2 MB. By submitting, artists grant HMVC Gallery New York the right to use images on their website, social media, and online to promote exhibitions, with full credit and copyright remaining with the artist.
