HMVC Gallery presents 2023

HMVC Gallery New York is hosting an online group show celebrating 2023. Artists are invited to submit artworks reflecting on the past year and revisiting works created in 2023. The gallery welcomes artworks from all mediums of visual art, except AI-created art and video/film.

Artists may submit up to 20 artworks for consideration, with one artwork from each selected artist included in the final group show. Digital entries must be received by November 28th, 2023 before 11:59 p.m. EST. Notification of acceptance will be sent by email by November 30th. The show will premiere on December 1st and run through December 31st. All participating artists will be featured on the gallery's website and virtual gallery, receive an HMVC Gallery New York certificate of participation, and have their work included in a video clip of "2023" to be screened on a jumbotron billboard in Times Square in January.

Awards include cash prizes for Best of Show ($150) and Second Place ($100), with winners required to have a working PayPal account. The Third Place winner receives an online solo show at HMVC Gallery New York running for one month, plus a solo certificate. Submission requirements include high-quality images (JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, or WEBP format; 1200-2560 pixels on longest side; under 2 MB), an artist bio, and an artist statement. The entry fee is $25 for the first submission and $10 for additional entries (non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance). Jurors are Heini Mika and Vincent Chang. By submitting, artists grant HMVC Gallery New York the right to use images on their website, social media, and online promotions, with full credit and copyright remaining with the artist.
