Hit Me With Your Best Shot

"Hit Me With Your Best Shot" is a Gulf Coast Bird Photography Competition co-sponsored by the Gulf Coast Bird Club and Associated Louisiana Artists, Inc. The competition will be judged by the editorial staff at Bird Watcher's Digest.

Photography submissions must be limited to digital enhancement of color and shadow only. No alteration of original image, shape, background, or cloning in or out of photograph is allowed. Photography should follow Audubon Photography guidelines regarding bird safety and dignity. Photographers may submit up to 3 entries across all categories. The entry fee is $35 for three entries. Accepted works must be framed and back wired, with image size not exceeding 18" x 24" (432 sq. inches) or equivalent with matted and framed work no larger than 24" x 28" (672 sq. inches).

Eligibility: Adults 18 and older; Youth category for ages 13-17 as of June 1, 2018. Award categories include: Birds in Action, An Educational Moment, Fine Art, and Youth Category. Awards: $300 Best in Show, $200 1st Place (3 awards), $100 2nd Place (3 awards), Honorable Mention (3 awards), and $100 Youth Best in Show. The exhibition runs October 14 - December 31, 2018. Awards will be announced at the opening reception on October 14 at 2:00-4:00 PM. Accepted artwork must remain at Gallery by the Lake for the duration of the exhibition. A 20% gallery commission will be assessed on sales. The gallery reserves the right to reproduce accepted entries for press releases, website, and social media promotion.
