About This Call

"Hispanic and Latinx Heritage - The Tapestry of America" will run at The Cultural Center of Cape Cod from October 11–November 10, 2022. This exhibition will focus on the influences of Hispanic and Latinx people reflected in American culture and embodied in its traditions, tastes, music, and art. The Cultural Center has five galleries available for art of all mediums, including light and sound, fine art, authentic craft, photography, and film. In addition to the visual art from this international call, the exhibition will feature related programming including an evening with Mariachi singer Veronica Robles with a traditional Mexican dinner, language and food workshops, a Music of Puerto Rico workshop, a concert with Fabiola Mendez, and Latin dance classes.

This call is open to artists worldwide, both amateur and professional. Work must have been produced within the last five years. All styles and aesthetics are considered. Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible. The content of submissions should be appropriate for all viewers. Artists may submit 1-20 images in JPEG format, with images at least 1,200 pixels on the longest side and maximum file size of 5 MB.

Entry fee is $20 for members for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance. Notification of acceptance will be sent by email by September 29. The opening event is Friday, October 14, from 5-7 p.m. Artists are responsible for shipping costs. Works must arrive by October 7 if shipped, or be dropped off locally on October 10 between 8 a.m. and noon. Unsold work can be picked up on Monday, November 14, between 8 a.m. and noon, or shipped the week of November 14. The Cultural Center charges a 30% commission on sales for members and 40% for non-members. Framed work must be fitted firmly in frame with wire for hanging; gallery wrapped canvases are permitted. Poorly presented work will not be hung.
