Highlights and Shadows

Highlights and Shadows is an open call for artists of all levels from around the world to submit work for an inaugural exhibition organized by an emerging Chicago art gallery. The call seeks a diverse range of works in photography, painting, sculpture, and AI art that explore the interplay of light and dark, contrast and depth, and the unseen elements that shape our world.

Submission fee is $45. Artists may submit 1-8 pieces for consideration. Photography submissions will be printed and framed at the exhibition location. Artists are responsible for artwork shipping costs, though they may sign work with the gallery until sold to save return shipping costs. Optional submissions include video or audio files providing context for work, as well as a CV or artist statement. Artists must be 18 years or older and able to ship work to Chicago.

The exhibition runs June 13-30, 2025. Juror is Victoria Loeb. Three selected artists will be featured in a dedicated group show in Fall 2026.
