Hi Ho Silver

Ashton Gallery @ Art on 30th, a contemporary art center and gallery in San Diego, California, invites regional and national artists to submit original works for the 2021 "Hi Ho Silver" exhibition. Artists are invited to explore the color "silver" in its many forms: stainless steel, pewter, gray, silver leaf, metal, and other interpretations. Works featuring masks, hand-crafted masks, or art depicting people, animals, or characters wearing masks are also eligible.

Accepted mediums include acrylic, oils, watercolor, drawing, photography, assemblage, collage, encaustic, mixed media, fiber art, and 3D art that fits on an 18" x 18" pedestal. Minimum size is 10" and maximum size is 72". The exhibition does not accept jewelry, video, film, performance art, or installations. All submissions must be original works and must be for sale. Entry fee is $35 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry (up to 6 pieces total). Artists must submit 1-6 images online through CaFÉ by September 12, 2021 at 11:59 PM MDT.

Selected works will be published in the Ashton Gallery full-color exhibition catalog. Three awards and two honorable mentions will be given by juror Wendy L. Wilson-Gibson, with $1,000 in total cash prizes awarded. Best in Show will be featured on the catalog cover, and First Place and Juror's Choice will each receive a double page spread. Notification of results will be sent by September 27, 2021. The exhibition runs October 30 - December 3, 2021, with an opening reception on October 30 from 5pm-7pm. If artwork sells, Ashton Gallery receives a 50% commission. All artwork must remain in the show until closing. D-ring hardware is required for installation. Artworks valued over $3,000 should be insured before shipping.
