About This Call

The Cultural Center of Cape Cod is calling for 2D artwork to be exhibited alongside the "Heatwave" exhibition, which features 3D sculptures by artist Deb Ehrens created in collaboration with scientists Caroline Ummenhofer and Svenja Ryan from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. The sculptures merge art and science to explore marine heatwaves and climate change impacts on ocean ecosystems, with particular relevance to Cape Cod communities.

Submitted work should align with the theme "Resilient Sea" and inspire optimism and activism amid a changing climate. The exhibition will run from March 31 to April 25, 2027, with an opening reception on April 10 from 5–7 pm. Work must be produced within the last five years and can be in any style or aesthetic. This call is open to artists worldwide, both amateur and professional. Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible.

Entry fee is $25 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry, with a maximum of 20 entries per artist. Submission deadline is March 25, 2026 at 11:59 pm EDT. Notifications will be sent by March 27. Local drop-off only; artwork will not be accepted via shipping. Work drop-off is March 30 from 9 am–noon at The Cultural Center of Cape Cod, 307 Old Main Street, South Yarmouth, MA 02664. Pick-up is April 27 from 9 am–noon. All images must be submitted in JPEG or JPG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, with a maximum file size of 5 mb. The Center charges a 30% commission on sales for members and 40% for non-members. The Center is not responsible for damage to artwork and recommends artists insure their work.
