About This Call
The Visual Arts Center at the Washington Pavilion invites submissions for "Heartland Horizons" in the Bates Trimble Heartland Gallery. The exhibition seeks artwork that captures the essence of the Heartland—its landscapes, its people, its history, and its future. Artists are encouraged to draw inspiration from vast prairies, bustling cities, quaint towns, agricultural abundance, or the resilient spirit of Heartland communities.
Eligibility is limited to artists who live in and make artwork reflecting the Heartland. Submissions must include 1-10 images of existing artwork. Total work samples may range from 3-20 items, including up to 5 audio files and 5 video files.
Timeline: Submissions open July 26 and close September 27, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artwork will be selected by jury on October 11, with artists notified on October 18. Artists must deliver artwork by November 8. The exhibition opens December 1, 2024 and closes May 27, 2025. Artists must pick up artwork between May 27-June 30, 2025.
