Heart of Sausalito

HEART of Sausalito is a juried art show curated by the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce. The show seeks artists and craftspersons who create handmade and original work. Sausalito artists and those with businesses located in Sausalito will be given greater consideration.

The show is scheduled for Friday, October 16th (4-8 pm ticketed reception for Sausalito residents and invited guests), Saturday, October 17th (10 am-6 pm), and Sunday, October 18th (10 am-4 pm), open to the public on Saturday and Sunday. Set-up is Friday, October 16th, 9 am-3 pm. Booth spaces are 8x8 (single) or 8x8 (corner) with black pipe and drape; artists must provide their own display. Six-foot tables are available for an additional cost. Two chairs are provided per booth. Electricity is available with stipulations; all lights must be LED and each booth is allowed 500 watts. The committee will assign booth spaces for an overall cohesive look based on art medium and genre.

Applicants must submit 5-10 digital images via the Café application system showing individual pieces representative of current work, with 2 images of display and booth setup. One video may be submitted. Application fee is $35 (non-refundable). Booth fees are due within 30 days of acceptance: 8x8 booth $350, 8x8 corner booth $400, 6-foot tables $12 each. Sausalito Chamber members receive a $50 credit toward booth space. The jury panel includes 4-5 jurors: working artists, gallery managers, and Chamber of Commerce Board members. A wait list of juried artists will be maintained for each category.

Eligibility: Must be a Marin County resident or have a brick and mortar business in Marin County. All work must be original and produced directly by the artist; no commercially produced work. All jewelry must be handcrafted and contain no more than 30% purchased components. The call is open to artists 18 years or older. Attendance by the artist is required every day of the event. Once accepted, each artist must obtain a City of Sausalito Business License and submit a copy by September 15, 2020. Cancellation after August 31, 2020 results in forfeiture of booth fee. No-shows will result in suspension from the next HEART of Sausalito show in 2021. Insurance for works in transit and on premises is the artist's responsibility.
