Artists may submit up to three pieces of 2D artwork in oil, acrylic, watercolor, or pastel. Artwork must be original, created within the last three years, and not previously awarded in any exhibits. Artwork dimensions cannot exceed 24 x 30 inches including framing. Digital submissions must be high-quality JPEG files at least 1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, and maximum 5 MB file size. The entry fee is $45 per application.
Awards include Best of Show ($500), First Place ($400), Second Place ($300), Third Place ($200), and People's Choice ($100). Up to 100 finalists will be exhibited in May 2015 for viewing by collectors, gallery owners, and peers. The juror is Tesia Blackburn, a working artist in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 25 years. Artwork selected for exhibition will be subject to a 20% commission payable to Once Upon a Canvas if sold.
