About This Call

Hear Us! is a national exhibition celebrating the female voice by female artists, held in honor of Women's History Month. The exhibition runs in October 2021, with an online gallery component and billboard placements on one of the busiest highways in metro-Detroit.

This is a call for women artists 21 and older to submit work exploring the female perspective and women's contributions to culture and society. Artists are encouraged to address issues important to them as women and express their sentiments through any medium—painting, digital work, drawing, fiber, sculpture, or other media. The jury seeks creative and profound expressions of these themes rather than clichéd imagery. Submissions should include 1-3 high-quality photographs of individual works. Entry fee is $55.

Prizes include billboard placement for the top 4 artworks and inclusion in an online gallery for the top 25 artworks, where work can be sold. The Art As Healing Foundation retains 35% of sales. Artists are responsible for pricing their work and shipping sold pieces to buyers. Notification of accepted artists will be by June 10, 2021, with billboard artist announcements by August 15, 2021. Accepted images may be used to promote the exhibition and affiliated organizations.
