About This Call
Central Oregon Community College invites artists to submit work for exhibition at the Health Careers Center on the Bend Campus. The call is open to all artists living in the United States, 18 years of age and older. Work in any 2D medium may be considered. Artworks that have been exhibited at any COCC campus within the last two years are not eligible.
The exhibition space is located in the first floor corridor of the Health Careers Center, measuring 11 ft. H x 46 ft. W and equipped with a custom hanging system at 8 ft. All accepted work must be suitably framed/mounted and ready for hanging. Art submissions do not need to have a health or healthcare-related theme. The space is provided as-is; exhibitors should review lighting prior to submission to ensure it will work for the proposed art, as no additional lighting or alterations to the space are permissible.
Artists must submit a minimum of five (5) and maximum of ten (10) images, a brief artist statement (no more than one page typewritten), and a resume. The College will select two artists: one for fall quarter (September 20 - December 10, 2021) and one for winter quarter (January 3 - March 18, 2022). Exhibits will be displayed for a four-week period during these timeframes, based on a mutually agreed upon date between COCC and the artist. Selected artists will work with the Exhibition Coordinator to discuss specific exhibition dates, installation, publicity, and de-installation. Artist notification will occur after May 17, 2021.
