Hayward Arts Council Open Juried Show

The Hayward Arts Council Open Juried Show is sponsored by the Hayward Arts Council and features original 2D artwork displayed in the John O'Lague Galleria located in Hayward City Hall. The exhibition is open to artists residing in the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma. Artwork must be original 2D pieces completed within the last three years (2013–2016). Accepted media includes acrylic, drawing, encaustic, mixed media, oil, pastel, and watercolor. No wet artworks, reproductions, jewelry, 3D art, photographs, or video are accepted. Artwork must not exceed 6 feet in width, 4 feet in height, or 20 pounds per piece.

Art will be selected by juror Carolyn Lord. A total of $3,000 in cash awards will be presented: First place $1,500, Second place $1,000, Third place $500, and Honorable Mentions. The opening reception and awards ceremony will be held Friday, October 7, 2016 at Hayward City Hall Rotunda. All artwork must be for sale, and the Hayward Arts Council retains a 20% commission on sales. The entry fee is $35.00 (non-refundable) and covers up to 3 entries. Entries must be submitted online by Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 11:59:59 PM Mountain Time. Notification of juror selections will be made by email on Saturday, September 10, 2016. Accepted artwork must be hand-delivered on either Friday, September 30, 2016 (9–11 AM) or Saturday, October 1, 2016 (1–4 PM). Artwork must remain in the exhibition until closing on November 17, 2016 and can be picked up Thursday, November 17, 2016 between 4–7 PM at the John O'Lague Galleria.
