About This Call
Hawaii Craftsmen, a 501(c)(3) volunteer organization, invites all artists residing in the State of Hawaii to enter traditional or non-traditional crafts and 2- and 3-dimensional arts in the categories of clay, fiber, glass, wood, metal, stone, and mixed media into its 51st Annual Statewide Juried Exhibition. The exhibition runs October 25-November 11, 2018 at the Honolulu Museum of Art School, Main Gallery, 1111 Victoria St., Honolulu, HI 96814. Participation is open to emerging and established artists. Artworks will be juried and selected at various intake locations throughout the state. Cash awards will be presented at the exhibition opening reception and awards ceremony on October 24, 2018 from 6:30-8:30 pm. The juror is Isabella Ellaheh Hughes, Co-Founder and Director of the Honolulu Biennial Foundation.
Artists must submit entries of original design created independently within the last two years. Artworks previously included in juried exhibitions on Oahu or displayed in any Honolulu Museum of Art School exhibition are ineligible. Registration is open September 1-October 1, 2018 via the online CaFE system at www.CallForEntry.org. Participants must upload digital images of up to 6 completed entries and a 1-page artist statement or bio. Intake and jurying will occur on Hawaii, Maui, Kauai, and Oahu islands. Entries from Molokai and Lanai will be juried online with notifications via email on October 11.
Entry fees for Hawaii Craftsmen members are $25 for the first two entries and $10 for each additional entry (up to 6 total). Non-members pay $75 for the first two entries and $10 for each additional entry. Membership must be active through November 1, 2018 to qualify for member rates. Membership dues are: Individual $50, Senior (65+) $30, Student (full-time with valid ID) $25, Family (one household, 2 individuals) $75. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 am-4:30 pm, Sunday 1:00-5:00 pm, closed Mondays. Admission is free for public viewing. For questions, contact [email protected] or (808) 532-8741.
