About This Call
Hawaii Craftsmen, a 501(c)(3) volunteer organization, invites all artists residing in the state of Hawaii to enter traditional or non-traditional crafts and 2- and 3-dimensional arts in the categories of clay, fiber, glass, wood, metal, stone, and mixed media into its 50th Annual Statewide Juried Exhibition. The exhibition runs October 25 - November 10, 2017 at the Honolulu Museum of Art School, Main Gallery, 1111 Victoria St., Honolulu, HI 96814. Participation is open to emerging and established artists. Artworks will be juried and selected at various intake locations throughout the state. Cash awards will be presented at the exhibition opening reception and awards ceremony on October 24, 2017 from 6:30-8:30 pm. The juror is world-renowned Kenyan-British artist Magdalene Anyango Namakhiya Odundo, OBE.
Eligibility: Artists must reside in Hawaii. Entries must be of original design and created independently within the last two years. Functional and non-functional 2- and 3-dimensional art is accepted. Artworks previously included in juried exhibitions on Oahu or displayed in any Honolulu Museum of Art School exhibition are ineligible. Registration is open September 1 - October 1, 2017 via CaFE online system only. Participants must upload 2-6 images of completed entries and a 1-page artist statement or bio.
Entry Fees: Hawaii Craftsmen members pay $25 for the first two entries and $10 for each additional entry (up to 6 total). Non-members pay $75 for the first two entries and $10 for each additional entry. Membership must be active through November 10, 2017 to qualify for member rates. Membership dues: Individual $50, Senior (65+) $30, Student $25, Family $75. Intake and jurying occurs on Hawaii, Maui, Kauai, and Oahu islands. Entries from Molokai and Lanai will be juried online with notification via email on October 16. Gallery hours: Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 am-4:30 pm, Sunday 1:00-5:00 pm, closed Mondays.
