About This Call
Haven: Place of Comfort & Contemplation invites artists to explore spaces of sanctuary—whether physical places, states of mind, or human connection. Artists are encouraged to show their interpretation of haven, beckoning viewers into these sanctuaries and revealing their profound impact through various mediums and techniques. Submissions could include landscapes and still lifes exploring the power of the natural world, introspective works celebrating inner sanctums and meditation, or portraiture celebrating human and animal interconnectedness.
Open to artists worldwide. Maximum of 3 pieces per artist. All mediums welcome, including oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, photography, drawings, and sculptures in permanent materials such as bronze, marble, terra cotta, fiberglass, resin, wood, and paper mache. Giclée prints, non-photographic prints, and AI-generated work are not accepted. Work must have been produced in the last 3 years and not previously shown at SebArts Gallery. Wall-mounted work must include fixtures and be ready to hang. Entry fee: $35 per entry plus $2 media fee. Submissions entered online only; images must be 5MB or less in JPEG format. Each piece can have one main image and up to two additional images showing perspective or detail. Include dimensions and weight with submissions.
Juror: Rena Charles, Director of the Rena Charles Gallery in Healdsburg, CA. Artists will be notified of acceptance by July 1, 2024. Exhibition dates: August 15 - September 22, 2024. Accepted pieces must be shipped to arrive by August 5, 2024, or hand-delivered by August 12, 2024. Awards: 1st Place $300, 2nd Place $200, 3rd Place $100, and two $50 coordinator awards.
