About This Call
Hand Pulled Prints: The Current Practice in Printmaking is an international juried exhibition of hand-made prints reflecting ambitious, innovative and contemporary printmaking. The exhibition highlights woodcut, linocut, intaglio, lithographic, silkscreen and monotype processes. The juror is Ruth Lingen, master printer at Pace Editions, NYC, who has worked with over 60 artists including Donald Baechler, Chuck Close, Jim Dine, Leonardo Drew, Shepard Fairey, Jane Hammond, Robert Ryman and Kiki Smith.
The exhibition runs July 27–August 26, 2015 at OnSite:Brooklyn, a street level gallery located in the Gowanus arts district. The opening reception is Wednesday July 29, 2015 from 6-8PM. Gallery hours are weekends 2-6PM or by appointment. The Brooklyn Prize of $1,000 will be awarded to an individual artist in the show.
Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years of age or older working in 2-dimensional printmaking. All artwork must be original. Entry fee is $35 for up to three images, plus $5 for each additional image (minimum 3, maximum 6 images). Notification of acceptance will be made via email by June 29, 2015. Accepted work must be suitably framed to professional standard with maximum size 48" w x 60" h x 4" d. All artwork must be priced for sale. OnSite:Brooklyn retains a 35% commission on all exhibition sales. Hand-delivered work can be delivered July 22-24 from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. and must be removed August 31 or September 1, 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Shipped work must be received two weeks prior to the exhibition. Artists are responsible for all delivery and return shipping costs and insurance.
