About This Call
The Ah Haa School for the Arts annual summer fundraiser, HAHA, is a participatory and interactive community event featuring a building-wide immersive art installation where each space within the Ah Haa Silverjack building is taken over by a different artist. The event encourages featured artists and visitors to engage in the creative process, with art as an experience shared by everyone. Designed to be accessible to participants of all ages, HAHA takes place annually over 3 days in July, with over 2,000 participants visiting each year. The 2025 event dates are July 14-21, 2025.
Ah Haa is seeking artists, musicians, performers, designers, and creative thinkers of all backgrounds and abilities to propose work for the 2025 event. Submissions may include a single art piece, full room installation, video and new media content, or other creative work. All installations must be ADA-compliant and include an interactive element to directly engage visitors. Priority will be given to submissions that encourage touch, play, and creation by viewers. Artists must attend install and HAHA events throughout the week of July 14-21, 2025, as ambassadors for Ah Haa and their creative practices.
Application requirements include an installation proposal with timeline and budget, 5-7 images of existing work, a letter of intent, and a CV. Entry fee is $10.00. Selected artists receive an all-inclusive budget for materials, shipping, and production ($1,000-$8,000, determined case by case), all travel expenses to and from Telluride covered, accommodations for the week of July 14-21, 2025, and experienced volunteer installation support. The opportunity is open to international artists. Entry deadline is January 31, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
