The Museum of Northern California Art (monca) invites artists to submit original artwork featuring water as subject matter, interpreted literally or metaphorically. All media are welcome. Giclée prints of original art and AI-generated work will not be accepted.

Eligibility is limited to artists residing in Northern California, defined as San Jose and all points north, east, and west to the state border. Entry fee is $15 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry, with a maximum of 8 entries. All fees are non-refundable. Work samples should include 1-8 images and 0-3 videos. The jury, comprised of professional artists and art collectors, will make final selections. Jury dates are October 20 - November 2, 2025, with results notification by email on or before November 3, 2025.

Accepted work must be delivered ready to hang or display between November 20-23 and November 28-30 during museum hours (11am-5pm). Work to hang on the wall must be fitted with framing wire for the cable and hook system; sawtooth hangers will be disqualified. Three-dimensional work must fit on a pedestal (provided by monca) or the artist may provide other means of display. The artist's name, phone, and title of work must be on the back of each artwork. All work must be dry and clean. The exhibition opens December 4, 2025, with a reception on December 5 from 6-8pm, and closes January 18, 2026. Artwork pickup is January 18 at 5pm or during museum hours January 22-25 and January 29 - February 1. Works left beyond February 1 will be assessed a storage fee of $5 per piece per day. All exhibited artworks must remain in the exhibition until closing. Postage, packaging, and shipping insurance are the artist's responsibility. monca is not responsible for loss or damage in shipment.
