Gunnison Arts Center - Various Exhibition Opportunities

The Gunnison Arts Center (GAC) is located in Gunnison, Colorado, on Highway 50 and 135. The building was built in 1882 as the Denver & Rio Grande European Hotel and became the Gunnison Arts Center in 1983. The GAC is in the final phase of a multiyear renovation project sponsored by the State Historic Fund. Located 28 miles south of Crested Butte and 65 miles west of Salida, Gunnison is situated on the Colorado Creative District tour and hosts a vibrant First Friday Art Walk.

The Gunnison Arts Center features three rotating galleries: the Main Gallery (760 square feet) on the main level, the Nancy Tredway Gallery (250 square feet) on the second story, and the Cafe Gallery (175 square feet) on the first floor, which primarily exhibits 2D mediums. Exhibits are typically one month and can run for three months for special programming, traveling exhibitions, or curated group shows. The center also offers a permanent boutique gallery (approximately 500 square feet) and paid workshops during exhibitions. Commission for all galleries is 65/35 (65% artist, 35% GAC).

Applicants may apply to exhibit in multiple galleries in one month but may only apply for one solo exhibit annually. Artists are not limited in the number of group shows they can participate in. All work must be original to the artist; work created by other artists for resale is not accepted. Submit 3-20 sample works (video and audio also accepted), an artist statement, and a $5 entry fee. Entry deadline is February 15, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Eligibility is regional (Colorado).
