Group Exhibition Proposals

South Haven Center for the Arts, a small non-profit located in South Haven, Michigan, is seeking group exhibition proposals from 2 or more artists for the 2019 and 2020 calendar year. The organization has served the South Haven area's farming and retirement community for 67 years with a mission of community enrichment through the arts. Proposals will be reviewed on a quarterly schedule. Selection criteria include community interest, inclusiveness, broad appeal, affordability, and potential for community enrichment and associated programming. Proposals are reviewed by an exhibition committee comprised of seven experienced South Haven and Southwest Michigan artists.

Proposals must include: artist bios and brief resumes, a one-page curatorial statement supporting the proposed exhibition, history of the group if applicable, and ten images (at least one by each artist unless the group exceeds 10 artists, in which case submit a representative sample). Work previously shown at SHCA is not eligible. Work must have been completed within three years of the exhibition date. Applicants should provide approximately 50-100 words about the work (process and product) for educational purposes, and may suggest talks, workshops, or other community engagement activities.
