About This Call
The Greenwood Village Arts and Humanities Council announces its annual Art Scholarships for graduating high school seniors. Applicants must be graduating seniors from an Arapahoe County high school or residents of Greenwood Village, Colorado, and must be planning to enroll as full-time students at a college or arts school majoring in performing arts, visual arts, literary arts, or related fields such as film or architecture.
Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded. Applicants are judged on portfolio/repertoire quality, professionalism of presentation, presence in school and community through activities and volunteer work, and demonstrated potential for future involvement in the arts. Confirmation of acceptance from the college or art school and proof of full-time enrollment must be submitted before the scholarship is awarded.
Eligible work includes fine art (painting, drawing, sculpture, photography), music, dance, theatrical performance, and literature (short stories, poems, persuasive pieces, or excerpts). For 2D and 3D art, submit up to six images. For performances, submit up to three audio and/or three video submissions; at least one video or audio clip is required. For literature, submit up to three entries as PDFs. A resume, artist statement, and at least one letter of recommendation (up to three encouraged) are required. If selected as a finalist, original pieces may need to be brought to the Curtis Center for the Arts, 2349 East Orchard Road, Greenwood Village, for juror review in March 2021. Deadline: Friday, March 12, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Contact Chris Stevens at 303-708-6110 or [email protected] for questions.
