About This Call
The Greenwood Village Arts and Humanities Council announces its annual Art Scholarship for graduating high school seniors planning to pursue a major in the arts. Eligible fields of study include fine art, music, photography, theater, set design, architecture, literature, creative writing, poetry, or other arts fields. Students must be graduating from a high school located in Arapahoe County or be a resident of the City of Greenwood Village, Colorado.
Two $3,000 scholarships will be awarded. Confirmation of acceptance from the college or art school you plan to attend must be submitted before the scholarship is awarded, along with proof of full-time enrollment. Eligible work includes fine art (painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, etc.), music, dance, theatrical performance, and literature (short stories, poems, persuasive pieces, or excerpts from longer works).
Submission requirements vary by medium: up to six images for 2D and 3D art; up to three audio and three video submissions for performances (at least one video is required); and up to three literature entries. A resume and at least one letter of recommendation (up to three encouraged) are required as PDF documents. If selected as a finalist, original pieces may need to be brought to the Curtis Center for the Arts, 2349 East Orchard Road, Greenwood Village, for juror review in March 2019. The application deadline is Monday, March 4, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Contact Chris Stevens at 303-708-6110 or [email protected] for more information.
