About This Call
The Valley Artists Guild presents the 14th Annual Green Mountain Watercolor Exhibition, held at The Red Barn Galleries at Lareau Farm, Rt. 100, Waitsfield, VT 05673. The exhibition runs June 11 through July 19, 2026, with an opening reception on June 11 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
The exhibition is open to all artists working with transparent and opaque watercolors, gouache, or water-soluble inks on paper, synthetic paper, or watercolor board. Work must be the artist's original work executed solely by the artist. A single entry fee of $35.00 applies for either 1 or 2 paintings, both of which may be accepted. Entry fees are non-refundable. The deadline for entries is April 16, 2026. Entries are submitted through OnlineJuriedShows as JPEG images under 4 MB in sRGB colorspace, at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi.
Selections will be made by a panel of jurors holding signature membership in watercolor societies. Awards will be made by judge Gary Tucker, who brings 20 years of experience teaching watercolor nationally and internationally. Awards of $7,000+ and merchandise are anticipated. All submitted work must have a maximum frame size of 48 inches in any direction, with white, neutral, or colored mats accepted. Unvarnished work must be protected by glass (hand delivered) or plexiglass (shipped work); varnished work must be framed. Frames must have appropriate wire for hanging with no sawtooth or loop hangers. Work may be priced or marked NFS, with a 35% commission to Valley Artists Guild, Inc. on any sales. Acceptance notifications will be sent May 4, with delivery dates May 27-30. Paintings available for pick-up July 20-21, with shipped paintings sent July 21-24.
