About This Call
H Gallery + Studios is a 10,000 square foot vintage 1930s building located in Ventura, California, between Malibu and Ojai. The gallery includes a 2,000 square foot exhibition space, a 2,700 cubic foot suspended installation area, and 20 work studios. Opened in 2011 by Dab Art Co. founder Yessíca Torres and designer Rodrigo Aguilar, H Gallery focuses on mid-career to established artists and is exclusively curated by Zära Monet Feeney.
The gallery accepts paintings, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional work, digital art, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. All work must be original, unsold, and owned solely by the artist. 2D artwork must be ready to hang with professional-quality frames, mats, and wiring. Online exhibitions vary from 3 to 6 months with a minimum of one solo exhibition selected per month. Gallery exhibition lengths vary from 4 to 10 weeks, and selected artists are invited to attend receptions. Early applications are encouraged as entries are reviewed weekly.
Entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with additional images at $5 each (maximum 20 images). An optional video consultation with the gallery director is available for $100. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. Shipments must include prepaid UPS or FedEx return labels and cannot contain packing peanuts. The gallery retains a 50% commission on all sales. Payment to artists is provided within 60 days after the exhibit concludes and receipt of full payment from the buyer.
