About This Call
H Gallery + Studios is a 10,000 square foot vintage 1930s building located in Ventura, California, between Malibu and Ojai. The space includes a 2,000 square foot gallery, a 2,700 cubic foot suspended installation area, and 20 work studios. The gallery was opened in 2011 by Dab Art Co. founder Yessíca Torres and Southern California designer Rodrigo Aguilar, and is exclusively curated by Dab Art Co. curator Zära Monet Feeney.
The gallery focuses on mid-career to established artists and accepts painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. Online exhibitions vary from 3 to 6 months, with a minimum of one solo exhibition selected per month. Gallery exhibition lengths may vary from 4 to 10 weeks. Featured artists are invited and encouraged to attend receptions, and a selected few may be invited for recorded artist interviews and/or panel discussions.
Submissions must include at least 3 images (up to 20), a biography and/or artist statement, artist website link, and links to at least one social media platform. All work must be original, unsold, and the artist must own the sole copyright. 2D artwork must be ready to hang with professional quality frames, mats, and wiring. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. The gallery retains a 50% commission on all sales. Payment to artists is provided within 60 days after the exhibit concludes and receipt of full payment from the buyer. Entry fee is $35 for 3 images; additional images are $5 each (maximum 20 images). An optional video consultation with the gallery director is available for $100. Notifications are sent via email within 2 weeks after the close of each calendar month. Artists on the waitlist will be featured in at least one online exhibition within the calendar year.
