Greater Los Angeles | Gallery Exhibition Consideration

H Gallery + Studios is a 10,000 square foot vintage 1930's building located in Ventura, California, dedicated to creatives and art entrepreneurs. It includes a 2,000 square foot gallery, a 2,700 cubic foot suspended installation area, and 20 work studios. Opened in 2011 by Dab Art Co. founder Yessíca Torres and designer Rodrigo Aguilar, H Gallery focuses on mid-career to established artists and is exclusively curated by Dab Art Co. The gallery is located between Malibu and Ojai and is one of the prevailing contemporary art spaces in the greater Los Angeles area.

Curator Zära Monet Feeney is a curator, exhibiting artist, and university professor at California State University, Northridge. Her selection process emphasizes both technical ability and conceptual applications. Accepted artwork includes painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. All work must be original, unsold, and the artist must own the sole copyright. Exhibition lengths vary from 4 to 10 weeks. Featured artists are invited to attend receptions, and a selected few may be invited for recorded artist interviews or panel discussions.

Submissions must include at least 3 images, a biography and/or artist statement, artist website link, and links to at least 1 social media platform. Early applications are encouraged as entries are reviewed weekly. Entries submitted on or before July 31, 2020 are for Fall 2020 exhibition consideration. Artists selected for online exhibitions will be placed on a gallery wait list with priority consideration for gallery exhibitions once COVID closures are lifted. Gallery retains a 50% commission on all exhibition sales in gallery and online. Payment to artists is provided within 60 days after the exhibit concludes and receipt of full payment from the buyer. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance of artworks. An optional 15-minute phone or Zoom consultation with the curator is available for $50.
