About This Call
Dama Gallery, LLC is a contemporary art gallery located in Ventura, California, dedicated to mid-career and established artists. The gallery is situated in the Greater Los Angeles region, linking Malibu, Ojai, and surrounding areas. Originally opened in 2011, Dama Gallery has evolved into a venerable institution within the regional contemporary art community.
The gallery accepts paintings, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. All artwork must be original and unsold, with the artist owning sole copyright. Frames, mats, and wiring must be professional quality and in good condition. 2D artwork selected for exhibition must be ready to hang. Submissions should include at least 3 images (minimum 3, maximum 20), biography, artist statement, website, and social media accounts. Entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with an additional $5 per image up to 20 total images.
Entries are reviewed weekly with selections made throughout the month by location and curator. Exhibition lengths vary from 1 to 3 months depending on the artist's medium and work sizes. Featured artists are invited to attend receptions, and a selected few may be invited for recorded artist interviews or panel discussions. Artists selected for exhibition will be considered for representation by Dama Gallery, which includes priority consideration for future exhibitions, professional consultation, portfolio assistance, and marketing support. The gallery maintains a 50% commission on sales. Sales remittance occurs 5-7 business days post-exhibition and/or upon buyer payment finalization. Artworks are listed on Artsy, the gallery's online sales platform partner. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance of artworks. No packing peanuts are permitted in shipments.
