Greater Los Angeles 2023 | H Gallery + Studios Exhibitions Open Call

H Gallery + Studios, located in Ventura, California, is a 10,000 square foot contemporary art space opened in 2011. The gallery includes a 3,000 square foot gallery, a 2,700 cubic foot suspended installation area, and 20 work studios. H Gallery is accepting submissions for group and solo exhibitions, with exhibition lengths varying from 6 to 12 weeks for in-gallery shows and 3 to 6 months for online exclusives.

Submissions must include at least 3 images (up to 20 maximum), a biography and/or artist statement, artist website link, and links to at least one social media platform. Accepted artwork includes painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. All work must be original, unsold, and the artist must own the sole copyright. 2D artwork must be ready to hang with professional quality frames, mats, and wiring. The number of pieces exhibited varies based on the artist's medium, sizes, shapes, and available wall space, with every artist able to exhibit a sizable body of work.

Entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with additional images at $5 each (maximum 20 images). An optional video consultation with the gallery director is available for $100, limited to 1 hour via Zoom. Entries are reviewed weekly with early considerations made prior to the deadline. Notifications are sent via email generally within 2 weeks after the close of each calendar month. Selected artists receive either an immediate exhibition invitation or waitlist status, with waitlisted artists featured in at least one online exhibition within the calendar year. Gallery retains a 50% commission on all sales. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. Shipments must include prepaid UPS or FedEx return labels and be in reusable containers; no packing peanuts are permitted.
