About This Call
H Gallery + Studios is a 10,000 square foot vintage 1930s building located in Ventura, California, between Malibu and Ojai. The gallery includes a 2,000 square foot exhibition space, a 2,700 cubic foot suspended installation area, and 20 work studios. Opened in 2011, H Gallery is exclusively curated by Dab Art Co. curator Zära Monet Feeney and focuses on mid-career to established artists.
Accepted artwork includes painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. All work must be original, unsold, and the artist must own sole copyright. Gallery exhibition lengths vary from 4 to 10 weeks, with online exhibitions lasting 3 to 6 months. A minimum of one solo exhibition is selected per month. Selected artists are invited to attend receptions, and a select few may be invited for recorded artist interviews or panel discussions.
Submissions must include at least 3 images (up to 20), a biography and/or artist statement, artist website link, and links to at least one social media platform. Entry fee is $35 for 3 images; additional images cost $5 each. An optional video consultation with the gallery director is available for $100. Notifications are sent via email within 2 weeks after the close of each calendar month. Gallery retains a 50% commission on all sales. Payment to artists is provided within 60 days after the exhibit concludes and receipt of full payment from the buyer. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance of artworks.
