About This Call
H Gallery + Studios is a 10,000 square foot vintage 1930's building located in Ventura, California, dedicated to creatives and art entrepreneurs. The space includes a 2,000 square foot gallery, a 2,700 cubic foot suspended installation area, and 20 work studios. Founded in 2011 by Dab Art Co. founder Yessíca Torres and designer Rodrigo Aguilar, H Gallery is exclusively curated by Dab Art Co. curator Zära Monet Feeney and focuses on mid-career to established artists.
The gallery accepts painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. All work must be original, unsold, and the artist must own sole copyright. Frames, mats, and wiring must be professional quality. 2D artwork must be ready to hang. Exhibition lengths vary from 4 to 10 weeks. Featured artists are invited to attend receptions, and a selected few may be invited for recorded artist interviews or panel discussions.
Submissions require at least 3 images, a biography and/or artist statement, artist website link, and links to at least 1 social media platform. Entry fee is $35 for 3 images; additional images cost $5 each (maximum 20 images). An optional consultation with the curator is available for $50. Entries are reviewed weekly with exhibition considerations made prior to the deadline. Gallery retains a 50% commission on all sales. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. Notifications are sent via email within 2 weeks after the close of each calendar month. For inquiries, email [email protected].
