About This Call
Beginning in the 1970s and still thriving today in 2025, Norfolk's vibrant glass art scene continues to flourish and enrich our surrounding communities while also captivating artists, collectors, and art lovers across the nation. The d'Art Center's Glass Immersed Dual Installation will feature a Juried Glass Art Exhibit as well as an Artisan Glass Sale from both local and national artists. This installation will also outline the history of Norfolk's Glass Scene, as well as the history of the Studio Glass Making Movement.
The Juried Exhibit will highlight a unique and diverse range of glass artworks and will be on exhibit March 21st - April 18th, 2026. There are no theme limitations for works in this exhibit - the installation's goal is to showcase the work of contemporary glass making artists and pay homage to the glass medium. Works must have been produced within the last 8 years, be 60" or less, and weigh 50 pounds or less. The $35 entry fee covers 5 entries with one image per artwork submission. Artists can submit up to 10 works to be juried for the show, with each additional submission over 5 being an additional $5.
Awards include 1st place ($500), 2nd place ($300), and 3rd place ($150). This is a juried exhibition co-curated by the selected juror and d'Art Center Gallery Director Amanda Bradley. Artists may choose to list their work for sale, with the d'Art Center taking a 40% commission on sales. The exhibition will be a destination on The Norfolk Glass Circuit Event scheduled for Sunday, March 29th, 2026.
