Girl Power!

HMVC Gallery presents an online group exhibition celebrating "Girl Power" as a significant cultural and political catchphrase. The exhibition pays homage to the voices and stories of women across generations, tributing transformations, triumphs, and unity when women embrace their individuality. Artists are encouraged to embrace diversity and show multicultural experiences and perspectives of women. The show welcomes artworks from all genders, but the subject focuses on girls and women. All mediums of visual art are welcome except AI-created art, video, and film.

Artists may submit up to 20 artworks for juror consideration; one artwork from each selected artist will be included in the group show. High-quality images, an artist bio, and artist statement are required. Submissions must be received by February 27, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Notification of acceptance will be sent by email by February 29. The show runs March 1-31, 2024. All participating artists will be featured on the gallery website and virtual gallery, receive a certificate of participation, and have their work screened on a Times Square jumbotron billboard in New York City.

Awards include: Best of Show ($150), Second Place ($100), and Third Place (online solo show for one month plus solo certificate). Cash prize winners must have a working PayPal account; prizes will be sent within 14 days of response. Entry fee is $25 for the first submission and $10 for additional entries (non-refundable, does not guarantee acceptance). Image requirements: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, or WEBP format; 1200-2560 pixels on longest side; under 2 MB. By submitting, artists grant HMVC Gallery New York rights to use images on website, social media, and online promotion with full credit and copyright remaining with the artist.
