Giles Gallery: The Chautauqua National - Living with Others

Eligibility: Any artist 18 years or older is eligible to enter work in any medium except video. All entries must be original work by the artist.

Specifications: Maximum size is 72" in any dimension. All work must be suitable for presentation or framed. Wall pieces must have appropriate hardware for hanging. Plexiglass glazing only. The director will exclude work that does not conform to this standard. Each artist may enter up to four pieces. Images must be sized to 1920x1920 pixels and saved as JPEG format. Include an artist's statement that ties the entries to the theme. Any accepted work that differs significantly from the entered image may be disqualified.

Juror: Boris Zakic, Associate Professor of Art at Georgetown College. Mr. Zakic received an MFA at University of New Orleans in 2000 and the "Die neue Dimensionen der Wissenschaft" Award by Raum und Zeit and Göethe-Institut Belgrade for the Translation Paintings in 2004. He has been involved with The Oval Portrait, Cincy Fringe Fest, The Independents at Liverpool Biennial, and other art projects. Most recently he curated The Invisibility of Pictures (2011) at Hanover College, IN and worked on various initiatives at the Lexington Art League, KY where he has been a board member since 2010.

Important dates: Entry deadline 11/27/11. Drop off of hand delivered work 01/7/12 from 1:00-4:00 PM. Last date for receipt of all accepted work 01/9/12. Opening Reception 01/19/12 from 5:00-7:00 PM. Exhibition closes 2/17/12. Pick-up date for hand delivered work 2/18/12 from 1:00-4:00 PM. All shipped work will be returned in its original container with prepaid label.
