About This Call

Gesture and Motion is a juried exhibition at Site:Brooklyn Gallery in Brooklyn, New York, running March 20 – April 18, 2020. The exhibition seeks works that capture movement, energy, activity, and develop an active relationship to the world. While the term gestural originates from abstract expressionist painting, Site:Brooklyn invites artists to consider this history as a point of departure in a pluralistic and open-ended manner. All mediums are welcome.

This exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older. The entry fee is $37.00 for up to three images, with an additional $10.00 for each additional image. Submissions must include 3–12 images and/or up to 3 videos. The final submission deadline is February 4, 2020 at 11:59 PM MT. Artists will be notified on February 13, 2020. The opening reception is Friday, March 20, 2020 from 6–9 PM.

Artwork must be original and suitably framed to professional standards, with a maximum size of 72" × 60" × 12" D. All artwork must be priced for sale, and Site:Brooklyn will retain a 50% commission on all sales. Artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping of their work and must provide their own insurance. All entry fees are non-refundable. For questions, contact [email protected].
