Georgia Watercolor Society 46th National Juried Exhibition

The Georgia Watercolor Society is accepting entries for its 46th National Juried Exhibition, to be held at the Morris Museum of Art in Augusta, Georgia. The exhibition will be open during the Masters golf tournament, providing artists with exposure to a select audience of visitors to the city. The juror is Ryan Fox, who will conduct a workshop (March 19-21) and demonstration with award ceremony (March 22).

Entry fee is $35 for members or $60 for non-members for up to three images. First prize is $2,000, with anticipated total awards of $10,000. All work must be original watercolor or other water media (watercolor, acrylic, casein, gouache, egg tempera, water-soluble ink, and batik using watermedia) completed after January 1, 2023. Work previously exhibited in any GWS show is not accepted. Paintings must be framed in wood or metal (gold, silver, black, brown, white, or natural wood tones) with frames not exceeding 3" in width. Plexiglass must be used instead of glass. Maximum frame size cannot exceed 40" in either direction, and the image size displayed within the mat must be no smaller than 80 square inches with no side smaller than 8 inches. Mats must be white or variations of white only.

Accepted artists will be notified on January 17, 2025. Shipped work must arrive February 17-21, 2025, or hand-delivered on February 22 between 11 am and 2 pm. The exhibition opens March 6 and closes June 26. Artwork pickup is June 28 between 11 am and 2 pm. A 40% commission applies to all sales (30% to Morris Museum of Art, 10% to GWS). Digital image submissions must be 300 dpi, 1800 pixels on the longer side, and less than 3.0 Mb in file size.
