Gems V: Exquisite, Intricate, Intimate Small Works of Art

Arts Benicia, a non-profit art center in Benicia, CA, invites artists to submit artwork for Gems V: Exquisite, Intricate, Intimate Small Works of Art, an exhibition focused on small-scale works in a variety of media. The exhibition will be juried by Susan Aulik, a Bay Area artist with a Master of Art degree in painting from California State University, Sacramento. She is the founder and director of The Fourth Wall gallery in Oakland.

Work size limitations: 2D works must not exceed 12" wide or 12" tall. 3D works must not exceed a 12" x 12" footprint or be taller than 12". Wall-hanging works must not exceed 30 lbs. Artists may submit up to 6 artworks (minimum 3 entries required). All media accepted, including 2D, 3D, audio, and video files. Entry fee is $45 for non-members or $35 for current Arts Benicia members for up to 3 artworks; an additional $5 fee is required for each additional entry, up to a maximum of 6. Entry fees are not refundable. Images must be 1 MB minimum and 5 MB maximum per file. A brief optional concept statement may be submitted.

Deadline for entries: September 16, 2022 at 10:59 PM PDT. Jurying dates: September 18-30. Artists will be notified by October 3. Exhibition dates: November 19 – December 18, 2022. Shipped artwork must be received by November 5. Hand-delivered work is accepted November 4-5, 1:00-5:00 pm. Public reception: November 19, 4:00-6:00 pm. In-person artwork pick-up: December 21, 1:00-5:00 pm. Shipped artwork return: December 21-22. Arts Benicia has a history of selling artworks at exhibitions; artists receive 60% of sales proceeds.
