GATHERING: Contemporary Glass from the Heartland 2017

GATHERING: Contemporary Glass from the Heartland is a juried exhibition showcasing emerging and established glass artists from Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. The exhibition runs September 1-16, 2017 at Gallery 924 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Eligibility: Artists must be at least 18 years old and connected to the region by birth, residency, or schooling from a degree-granting institution (current residency not required). Submitted artwork must use glass as its main medium, be completed within the past two years (2015-2017), and not have been previously accepted into any GATHERING exhibition. Entry fee is $40 (non-refundable) and allows submission of up to three works of art, with up to two images per artwork (main image plus detailed or additional view). Artists compete for up to $2,500 in total cash awards.

Jurors include Stephen Dee Edwards, Professor of Glass Art Emeritus at Alfred University and former President of the Glass Art Society Board of Directors, and Gerry King, an internationally exhibited glass artist and designer. Accepted artists will be notified by email the week of August 13, 2017. Artwork must be delivered to the gallery between August 28-29, 2017. Gallery 924 insures all artwork for its wholesale value (less 25% commission) while on display. All artwork must be reasonably priced and available for sale. The opening reception is Friday, September 1, 2017, 6pm-9pm EST at Gallery 924, 924 North Pennsylvania Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
