About This Call
Gateway to Imagination is a national juried art competition held at the Farmington Museum at Gateway Park, 3041 E. Main St., Farmington, New Mexico. The exhibition runs May 7–July 9, 2016.
Open to all artists 18 years or older residing in the United States. Entries must be original work completed after January 1, 2015, and cannot have been shown in previous Gateway to Imagination juried shows. All types of media are considered; no theme is required. Artists may submit a maximum of three artworks. Entry fee is $45.00 total for up to three submissions. Submit digital images in JPEG format (no larger than 8x10 @ 300 dpi) for each two-dimensional work; two images may be submitted for each three-dimensional work.
Awards include: Best of Show ($1,000), First Place ($600), Second Place ($400), Third Place ($300), Director's Choice ($250), Curator's Choice ($250), two NWNMAC Choice Awards ($200 each), and six Honorable Mentions ($75 each). Up to $1,000 in Purchase Awards are also available. A 25% commission will be charged on works sold during the exhibition. The juror is BettyAnn Mocek, Professor of Art and Director of the Ferguson Art Gallery at Concordia University Chicago. Notification of acceptance will be sent by mail on April 5. Accepted works must remain until the show closes. Artists not sending accepted work(s) will be disqualified from all Gateway to Imagination exhibitions for two years.
