Gallery of Hermosa: Rocktober

Gallery of Hermosa invites submissions for "Rocktober," an exhibition celebrating diverse interpretations of rock in all its forms—from geological formations and landscapes to rock music, culture, and anything that embodies strength, rebellion, and authentic expression.

Eligible works include 2D pieces in all mediums (paintings in oil, watercolor, mixed media, pastel, acrylic, pen and ink, sumi-e, pencil drawings, digital art, photography) and smaller 3D sculptures. All genres are welcome, including landscapes, figurative, portraits, abstract, surreal, still life, impressionism, expressionism, pop art, realism, and conceptual art. Wall-mounted pieces must have wire across the back; framed works over 16"x20" with glass cannot be accepted (plexiglass is acceptable). Sculptural works up to 16" in height are welcome, with 3D works under 12 inches tall that can stand on a pedestal considered for display. All sizes and price points are welcome; artwork must be available for sale. Photography must be unique or part of a limited edition series. High-quality, original art only.

Submit up to three images (detail shots count toward the total) with a $30 non-refundable entry fee. Include an artist statement providing insight into your work's inspiration and connection to the theme, along with your Instagram handle and website URL. The exhibition will be juried by a panel of art professionals and evaluated on artistic quality and craftsmanship, relevance to the theme, and innovation. Exhibition dates: October 18 to November 9, 2025. Opening reception: Saturday, October 18, 5-8pm. Location: Gallery of Hermosa, 138 Pier Ave, Hermosa Beach, California. Artists are responsible for delivering or shipping artwork to and from the gallery. Selected works may be listed online on the gallery's website.
