Call for Art: "DISCOVERY"

Gallery of Hermosa invites artists to interpret the theme "DISCOVERY" and submit work that encapsulates the thrill, curiosity, and revelation that come with finding something new. All mediums are welcome. Preference will be given to newer works that have not been previously displayed in the Los Angeles area. The exhibition runs June 7 to July 6, 2025, with an opening reception on June 7, 5-8pm at Gallery of Hermosa, 138 Pier Ave, Hermosa Beach.

Eligible works include 2D works in all mediums (paintings in oil, watercolor, mixed media, pastel, acrylic, pen and ink, sumi-e, pencil drawings, digital art, photography) and smaller 3D sculptures. Wall-mounted pieces must have wire across the back. Framed works over 16"x20" with glass cannot be accepted; plexiglass is acceptable. Sculptural works up to 16" in height are welcome; 3D works under 12 inches tall that can stand on a pedestal will be considered. All sizes and price points are welcome. Artwork must be available for sale. Photography must be unique or part of a limited edition series. High-quality, original art only.

Submission Details: Open to all local, national, and international artists. Submit up to three images for a non-refundable entry fee of $20 for the first image and $5 for each additional image. Include an artist statement providing insight into the inspiration behind your work and its connection to the theme, along with your Instagram handle and website URL. Selected works will be juried by a panel of art professionals and evaluated on artistic quality and craftsmanship, relevance to the theme, and innovation. Selected works may be listed online on the gallery website. Artists are responsible for delivering or shipping artwork to and from the gallery. Submission deadline: May 16, 2025.
