Gallery of Hermosa: "Happy Hour"

Gallery of Hermosa invites artists to submit work for the "Happy Hour" exhibition, running August 16 - September 14, 2025. The opening reception is Saturday, August 16, 5-8pm at Gallery of Hermosa, 138 Pier Ave, Hermosa Beach. This juried exhibition seeks high-quality artwork that interprets "Happy Hour" through your unique artistic lens and experiences—whether a quiet moment of solitude, a vibrant social gathering, cocktails, or an entirely personal interpretation.

Eligible works include 2D pieces in all mediums (paintings in oil, watercolor, mixed media, pastel, acrylic, pen and ink, sumi-e, pencil drawings, digital art, photography) and smaller 3D sculptures. All genres are welcome, including landscapes, figurative, portraits, abstract, surreal, still life, impressionism, expressionism, pop art, realism, and conceptual art. Wall-mounted pieces must have wire across the back. Framed works over 16"x20" with glass cannot be accepted; plexiglass is acceptable. Sculptural works must be under 16" in height and able to stand on a pedestal. Photography must be unique or part of a limited edition series. All artwork must be original, high-quality, and available for sale at all price points.

Submissions are open to all local, national, and international artists. Submit up to three images (detail shots count toward the total) with a $30 non-refundable entry fee. Include an artist statement providing insight into your work's inspiration and connection to the theme, along with your Instagram handle and website URL. Submissions will be evaluated on artistic quality and craftsmanship, relevance to the theme, and innovation. Selected artists are responsible for delivering or shipping artwork to and from the gallery. Submission deadline: July 29, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
