Gallery Exhibitions & Artist Residency | Mexico City

Proyecto Galería, a Dab Art Co. satellite gallery located in Colonia Centro, Mexico City, invites artists to submit work for exhibition consideration. The gallery is housed in a 2-story former residence with 3,000 square feet of combined exhibition space. Proyecto Galería is curated exclusively by Micheal Swank and focuses on contemporary work, particularly artists and artwork within the LGBTQ+ community. Accepted artwork media includes painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. Proposals may include multiple disciplines.

Artists selected for exhibition will also receive a one-week virtual artist residency through Proyecto de Residencía (PRMX). All work must be original, unsold, and the artist must own the sole copyright. For 2D artwork, pieces must be ready to hang with professional quality frames, mats, and wiring in good condition. No saw-tooth hangers are permitted. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. All shipments must include a prepaid UPS or FedEx return label and be shipped in a reusable container. The gallery retains a 50% commission on all exhibition sales in gallery and online. Selected artwork will be listed on Dab Art Co.'s sales platform, Artsy. Payment to artists is provided within 60 days after the exhibit concludes and receipt of full payment from the buyer.

Entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with an additional $5 per image up to a maximum of 20 images. Entries submitted on or before October 31, 2020 are considered for upcoming exhibition. Entries are reviewed weekly, and early applications are encouraged. Notifications are sent via email, and selected artists are given sufficient time to prepare work and arrange shipping or delivery prior to their exhibit date.
