About This Call
The Art Selection Committee of the Loveland Public Library seeks to establish a pool of artists or artist teams from Colorado to schedule upcoming exhibits for the Galleria. The Galleria displays will introduce artists to the community and provide them with valuable exposure and sales opportunities.
The Galleria display area features five display cases within pillars along the gallery space. The pillars are wood with a built-in display area encased on three sides by glass. The inside dimensions of each display case are 69" H x 21" W x 19" D. Artwork must fit inside the display case. Selected artwork will be on display for four months. Time slots to be scheduled are January 1 through April 30, 2013; May 1 through August 31, 2013; and September 1 through December 31, 2013.
Applicants must be an independent artist or artist team residing in Colorado. Each piece of art submitted must fit within the confines of a Galleria display case. Artists may submit up to six pieces with a maximum of three images per piece. Submissions must include a concept statement, current resume, detailed information on each piece (title, dimensions, medium, date produced, price or value, whether for sale, and other pertinent information), and images formatted as BASELINE Standard JPEG at 1920 pixels on the longest side, under 1.8 MB, saved at 72ppi in RGB color space. An artist selection panel will review all applications and select artists to have their artwork on temporary exhibit. Selected artists are solely responsible for transportation of their work to and from the gallery and any related costs. Artwork must be ready to install. The Art Selection Committee will be responsible for exhibit design, installation, lighting, invitations, receptions, and press releases. Artists will not receive compensation for exhibiting other than eventual sales proceeds. Sales will be handled by the Friends of the Loveland Public Library, who will retain a 20% commission on sales, with proceeds paid to the artist within 30 days of sale completion. For questions, contact Sue Baccari at 970-962-2425 or [email protected].
