GALEX 58 National Competition & Exhibition

GALEX 58 is a national competition and exhibition celebrating its 58th year. Open to all artists residing in the United States working in all mediums. Juror Niels Lewis will award over $2,500 in prizes and select over 70 works for the exhibition.

Eligibility: All work must have been completed within the last three years and must not have been previously shown in the Galesburg Community Arts Center galleries or gift shop. Art must be original work of the artist. Work is not to exceed 100 pounds or be unstable. Two-dimensional work may not exceed 48 inches in either length or width and must be wired and/or ready to hang. No work will be suspended from the ceiling. One entry (up to three individual works) per artist.

Entry fee: $25 for non-members or GCAC regular members; $20 for GCAC Artist Members. Work samples may include up to 3 images, 3 audio files, and/or 3 video files (minimum 1 total sample required). Exhibition dates: February 28 - April 5, 2025. Opening reception: February 28, 5pm. GALEX Gala: March 1, 6-9pm. Artwork delivery deadline: February 13-15 by 3pm. Pickup or return shipping: April 8-10. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs; prepaid return labels are preferred.
